The 9th Annual Pirates of Lanier Poker run video is here! Following its announcement early last week that the Lanier Partners of North Georgia wrapped up its 2016 Pirates of Lanier Charity Poker Run video and mailed it out to all participants, the organization, which has raised close to $2 million for local charities over the last eight years it has hosted the event, is excited to announce its newest. The Pirates of Lanier Charity Poker Run is an annual event held on Lake Lanier is Georgia that helps raise money for 3 charities around the state of Georgia. According to an announcement from the Lanier Partners of North Georgia—the non-profit charitable organization behind the annual Pirates of Lanier Charity Poker Run, next month's event in Buford, Ga., has been cancelled because of apprehension surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic.

A record number of boats turned up for the 2016 Pirates of Lanier Charity Poker Run. The start of the Poker Run was modified following the tragedy of the day before, but the spirit of giving continued as usual. A record number of boats and huge contributions all went to the benefit of the supported organizations .

Pirates of Lanier is an incredible event, hosted by a great board of organizers who are truly dedicated to being great hosts. But the top priority is to raise money for those in need in the surrounding areas.

Powerboat Nation again had the privilege of being invited to cover the event and participate in the great powerboating camaraderie and spirit of giving.

Pffft. You think you throw good parties? Harr! When was the last time the governor of Georgia issued an official proclamation to set aside a day to celebrate your event? He did with the 2016 Pirates of Lanier Poker Run.

The 8th annual event is scheduled for the weekend of July 14-16, 2016, with great times for pirates and landlubbers alike.

We are very excited about our Pirates of Lanier Charity Poker Run which is a fun family event, not a race, and look forward to having you participate in the event. We hope everyone will dress the part in their finest 'Pirate' attire because this will be 'Pirates Day' at Lake Lanier as proclaimed by Georgia Governor Nathan Deal!

The Pirates of Lanier Poker Run is a charity event that benefits Camp Sunshine, a program that blesses the lives of children struggling with cancer. Their families are offered year-round recreational, educational and support programs. Camp Sunshine is a spot that brings kids together to share and strengthen one another.
